seamus coleman.

Just a few years ago not many people would have known or even heard of who Seamus Coleman was. the 22 year old Irish man born in Donegal on 11/10/88. The promising young Right back begins to blossom as he impress' many in his first full season at Everton.

Seamus started his football career at his local team St. Catherines of Killybegs, during a friendly vs Sligo Rovers, his talent was spotted and he made his League of Ireland debut for Sligo vs Brandywell in October 2006, he came on as a subsitute for Adam Hughes.  Seamus' only goal for Sligo came against Bray Wanderers in May 2008.

Seamus' talent soon became noticed by many big clubs including; Celtic, Ipswitch town and Birmingham city, though Everton manager David Moyes won the bid for young Coleman and seamus signed for the Blues in Januray 2009 for a pricetag of just £60,000. before his first game for Everton, seamus had to undergo surgery on an infected career ending blister, thankfully, the operation was successful and seamus was able to play again.

Though it was a game to forget for the club of Everton, Seamus made his debut in the Europa league vs Benfica, Everton lost the game 5-0. Seamus didnt have a particularly good game and people became to wonder whether the pricetag reflected in his playing ability.

Seamus' home debut came in the premier league fixture vs Tottenham. Seamus came on as a first half sub for the injured Joseph Yobo. his influentual play lead him to set up both of Everton's goals which brought the game to a 2-2 draw. Being named Man of the match namely for his influence's within the game. so, Seamus had soon become the name on everyone's lips, they wanted to see what more he had to offer.

His first goal came in the League cup vs Brentford on 21st September 2010.

In March 2010, Seamus was sent off on loan to championship side, Blackpool, who were seeking promotion into the premier league. His first goal for the seasiders came in their 4-2 away win at Scunthorpe United. Originally, Coleman's loan was situated at one month but in April, the loan was extended until the end of the season, during this loan, Coleman signed a 4 year deal with Everton. Seamus played a big part in helping Blackpool win promation, they had defeated Cardiff CIty 3-2 at Wembley. with promotion guarunteed, Seamus returned to Everton for pre season and the beginning of the 2010/11 barclays premier league season.

Seamus eventually became a first team regular, playing in right midfield, though originally being a right back, seamus took to his new position very well and began to impress David Moyes and the fans. His first goal (of 6) this season, came vs Blackpool in November 2010.
later in the year Seamus was nominated for PFA young player of the year but sadly missed out to Arsenal's Jack Wilshere. Though, more recently, Seamus won Everton's young player of the year while Leighton Baines picked up Everton's player of the season.
Seamus has been one of Everton's vital players this season and has provided alot of skill and pace down the right wing. Hopefully more of the same next season and even better as the youngster continues to progress.
Seamus Coleman...Everton's Irish Messi.
